Trustees needed

Citizens Advice Eastleigh has been at the forefront of our community for over 80 years, helping our residents, no matter what the problem. From benefit enquiries, to housing issues to employment woes, we’re a vital service that is always in high demand.

We pull hard for the people of Eastleigh and our impact cannot be understated - we improved local pockets by over £2,000,000 in 2023-2024 and wrote off over £500,000 of debt too. We’re a busy, thriving advice charity and our work really matters to the people we help.

We’re seeking new Trustees to join our Board and help us take our work forward. As a Trustee you’d be part of a team helping to set our direction of travel, monitor our financial position, review our work, ensure our sustainability and ensure that we’re meeting the needs of our community. It’s a really worthwhile way to support the ongoing development of our charity and our Borough.

You don’t necessarily need a degree or special qualifications. But you do need to be pragmatic, motivated, able to see the big picture, can exercise independent judgement and with a keen interest in the wellbeing and welfare of our community. You’d also need to be available for evening meetings (we have 4 board meetings every year, plus Sub-Committees in the intervening months) both online and in person where possible. In turn, we will ensure that you have an induction process, any required training, can arrange for a mentor and will pay any out of pocket expenses.

We’re keen to welcome applications from all sections of our community to help us maintain a diverse and inclusive Trustee Board that reflects our clients and communities.

We would particularly welcome interest from people with skills in the following areas:

  • Health and Safety
  • HR
  • Fundraising
  • IT

And we are also seeking a Chair of Trustees as our own is due to step down at our next AGM. This role leads the Trustee Board, works closely with the CEO to set up meeting agendas, facilitates meetings, and ensures that the Board has the skills, training and support to ensure the ongoing success of the Charity.

If you are interested in joining us as a Trustee and would like to know more, please contact Chief Officer, Annabella Crawford at ceo@caeastleigh.org for an initial discussion and visit to our offices.
